It’s not a secret that the market value of a car is too much high then than the reality. For example, the probability of that car costing a ridiculous amount of money is very high if a car was previously owned by a famous person, or made an appearance in a Hollywood movie. Vehicles are almost as important as the characters themselves in the movies so their market value comes hand in hand with how “famous” the car has become nowadays. Now you can check out some of the most expensive cars that were used in films and TV. 

1.  Appeared In Le Mans, 1970 Porsche 917K: $14 million

Le Mans is one of those films that throughout the movie really invested in the cars they used, mostly its racing cars becoming some of the most expensive cars ever sold. Who could ever forget the poster car to start that was the 1970 Porsche 917K, driven by Steve McQueen? Even though the car made a very special place in the hearts of race car fans after it was aired in Le Mans the car disappeared for about 25 years. Actually, this vehicle was sold for $14 million at an auction. 

2. Also Appeared In Le Mans, 1968 Ford GT40 Gulf: $11 Million

To starring in Le Mans another car that rose to fame thanks was the 1968 Ford GT40 Gulf, which was sold at an auction for the incredible amount of $11 million in 2012. While we can say it easily that the price is quite mind-blowing, this particular car had more to offer than being a part of the Le Mans. Apparently, using carbon fiber with the intent of being both powerful and light the 1968 Ford GT40 Gulf was the first car. 

3. Appeared In Redline 7000, 1965 Shelby Cobra Daytona Coupe: $7.25 million

Although the third most expensive car from television or film coincidently turns out to be another Steve McQueen car and is not from Le Mans.  In the 1965 movie, the Shelby Cobra Daytona appeared Redline 7000, also gaining a lot of popularity with car lovers. It was the only American race car to perform better than a Ferrari was one of the biggest appeals at the time. For the amount of $7.25 million, the car was sold at an auction in Monterey.

4. 1956 Ferrari 250 GT LWB Berlinetta: $6.71 million, Appeared In The Love Bug

Without automatically thinking about the unforgettable Volkswagen Beetle featured in the film, it’s almost impossible to think about Disney’s The Love Bug. But the movie actually included a huge number of very amazing automobiles, such as the 956 Ferrari 250 GT LWB Berlinetta. While the car failed to get a good amount of screen time, at the event of an auction that took place in Monterey, California it went on to be bought for $6.71 million.   

5. Appeared In Batman, Batmobile: $4.62 million

8. Aston Martin DB10: $3.41 million, Appeared In Spectre

Aston Martin DB10 is another unique classic from the James Bond series, which also amongst car enthusiasts worldwide gained a lot of popularity. Allowing the car to make a very quick appearance because the scene was too short, but it’s enough to boost its value in the market. Although later in the films, McQueen went on to drive far more impressive cars, for about $1.37 million the Porsche 911S went on to be sold at an auction that took place in Scottsdale, Arizona. 

10. Appeared In Gone In 60 seconds, 1967 Shelby Mustang GT500: $1 million

1967 Shelby Mustang GT500, was seen in Gone In 60 Seconds with its $1 million price tag. This awesome vehicle appeared in separate two movies in different formats two separate movies referred to as “Eleanor,”: the first one was 1974’s Gone In 60 Seconds, where the car was covered up as a 1973 Mustang, driven by the one and only Nicolas Cage. Later on, “Eleanor” underwent a complete transformation by becoming in the 2000 reboot of the classic, what was featured as a 1967 Shelby Mustang GT500. Years later, for a clean million, the car was sold at an auction for a clean million.
